Solid perfume is fun and easy to make and is a wonderful idea for a personal, hand-crafted gift! You'll want some stylish little butter pots to hold your creations and Bramble Berry, Inc. has a terrific selection.
To make your solid perfume, follow these directions:
For a 9 oz. batch (which will fill about 36 pots), you would use, by weight:
2 oz. Beeswax
3 oz. Shea Butter
4 oz. Olive Oil
.5 to 1 oz Fragrance Oil of choice
Melt all fixed oils together, and add fragrance oil to melted oils. Pour mixture into small jars or twist-up tubes and sell as a solid perfume!

Try an exotic perfume, blend 5 drops of vanilla oil and 3 drops of ylang-ylang oil.
PERFUME
Luv
3 drops sandalwood essential oil
2 drops vanilla essential oil
3 drops cedar wood essential oil
15 drops bergamot essential oil
1/2 pt (300ml) 70% alcohol or vodka
Pour the alcohol into a bottle or jar. Add the oils and shake well. Leave for 1 week. Go easy on this stuff. You can always make more! Use love tonic in a diffusers, to scent body powders, to create a scented spray, in a massage oil or as a personal scent (dilute to 1% in jojoba) and worn on pulse points.
Luring Nights
4 drops sandalwood essential oil
4 drops musk essential oil
3 drops frankincense essential oil
2 teaspoons jojoba oil (pronounced hoe-hoe-bah)
Mix all the ingredients together, shake well. Place in a dark color bottle. Then allow the perfume to settle for at least 12 hours. Store in a cool dry area.

Place all of the ingredients in a sterilized 7 ounce glass bottle with a tight fitting lid and shake well. Set aside to mature for several days, shaking each day. Store in a cool, dark place. Shake before using. Simply dab it on with a cotton ball before or after using an electric razor.
Energizing Aftershave
2 cups witch hazel
2 oz. rose water
2 oz. aloe vera gel
1/2 oz. vegetable glycerin
1 drop peppermint
1 drop eucalyptus essential oil
Combine all ingredients in a container with a spray nozzle and shake well. Spritz on to skin after shaving. Makes 2 1/2 cups.
Minty Menthol Aftershave
3/4 teaspoon glycerinpinch boraxtiny pinch menthol crystals
3/4 cup witch hazel
10 drops peppermint essential oil
10 drops sandalwood essential oil
2 drops lavender oil
2 drops rosemary oil
Combine all ingredients in a container with a spray nozzle and shake well until all borax and menthol crystals are dissolved. Spritz on to skin after shaving.
Cologne
Lime Spirit
1 cup distilled water
1 cup vodka (try using citrus flavored)
3 drops lemongrass essential oil
10 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops lime essential oil
Combine the essential oils and vodka in a bottle. Shake well. Set aside for 3 weeks. Add distilled water then set aside for 1 week. Shake once a day. Store in dark bottles or keep in a cool dark place. Dab on pulse points for long-lasting fragrance.
Contented

You will need a sterilized 8-ounce glass bottle with a tight-fitting stopper, a bowl, and a paper coffee filter.
Pour the vodka and essential oils into the bottle. Let stand for 1 week, shaking daily. Add water, shake, and leave 4 to 6 weeks. Strain through the filter into the bowl, then pour into the bottle. Keep in a cool, dark place.
Body Spray
Soothing Summer
1 tablespoon witch hazel
1 teaspoon lemon essential oil (or fresh peelings)
1 teaspoon cucumber essential oil (or fresh peelings)
1 cup water
Mix all the ingredients together, shake well. Place soothing summer body spray in a spray bottle. Then allow the perfume to settle for at least 12 hours. For a refreshing cool feeling, store in fridge during hot summer weather.
Fruity Body Splash
1 tablespoon finely chopped lemon peel
1 tablespoon finely chopped orange peel
3 tablespoons vodka
10 drops mandarin essential oil
10 drops orange essential oil
5 drops lemon essential oil
5 drops grapefruit essential oil
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 cups distilled or boiled water
You will need a fine sieve and a sterilized 20-ounce glass bottle with a tight-fitting stopper.
Place the peels and the vodka in the bottle. Cover tightly with the stopper and let stand for 1 week. Press the mixture through the fine sieve to extract all the liquid. Pour the liquid back into the re-sterilized bottle. Add essential oils, vinegar, and water. Let stand for 2 weeks, shaking often. Keep in a cool, dark place.
