Reuse Aluminum Foil

-Reuse aluminum foil several times, along with pie plates, for food storage in the refrigerator. After washing, you can bend it in a tent shape so that it can dry efficiently. When used for freezing foods, it may get tiny holes all over because of the freezing process. Freezing foil decreases its effectiveness, so it should only be used once.

-To keep your furry friends off of your sofa, you can put pieces of foil around the area. The cracking noise will annoy them.

-Use a crumpled wad to scrub your pots. Be gentle with non stick surfaces. This wad can then be used to
remove rust spots from metal surfaces by dipping it in cola and rubbing hard.

-Keep your silverware shiny by storing it on top of a sheet. This foil will slow the tarnishing process significantly. To polish silver, place a sheet on the bottom of a pan along with some spoonfuls of baking soda. Add boiling water to the pan and it will remove all tarnish from your silverware.

-Make homemade glitter for your kids by cutting it in little pieces. Or
spray paint the foil and paste on cardboard to make a fun collage project with your kids.

-My favorite way to use aluminum foil creatively is to keep the pets off furniture or counters where they're not wanted. Dogs and cats HATE the feel of aluminum foil and will do anything to get away from it. Line counters with aluminum foil to keep cats down where they belong or line a chair seat to keep Fido firmly planted on the floor (or, well, on another chair...).

-Sharpen old scissors to razor sharp with aluminum foil. Take a sheet and fold it 4 or 5 times on itself. Cut through the foil with the scissors 4 or 5 times and you'll find that the scissors are much sharper after this cheap sharpening treatment.

-Use a ball of aluminum foil for a few tasks around the house
Ball up 10" of aluminum foil and use it to clean the grill. Works about the same as a grill brush but much cheaper and always on hand (can anyone ever find their grill brush?!). While we're on the topic of balled up aluminum foil. ball up another piece, wet it slightly, and then use it to
remove rust spots from the chrome on your car. Works fine!

-Another of my favorite uses for aluminum foil is to make mouth-watering ribs.

-You can easily make an icing piping tool by forming aluminum foil into a cone with a point at the end. Add icing and squeeze. Voila, an icing tool! Although I rarely decorate cakes, I do bake quite a bit and frequently find that I don't have the right sized pan. Rather than go buy one (which you'd think I'd do...) I use aluminum foil to form a shape, pour in the batter and away we go. You can get really creative and even make heart shaped cakes this way - well, I told everyone it was heart shaped...
