Stock your pantry with these go-to jars.

If you are having trouble fitting all of the ingredients in the jar, I have found that it works better to use a wide mouth jar instead of the small ones. Make sure you also are compacting the ingredients down as you go.

Have fun making these as easy and inexpensive gifts also!

French Vanilla Hot Chocolate in a Jar Mix

10 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
4 cups confectioner's sugar
2 -8 ounce jars of French Vanilla flavored nondairy powdered creamer
3 1/2 cups Nestle's Quick
2 3/4 cup nondairy powdered creamer
1/2 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Divide into 8 pint sized jars. If there is extra space at the top, add mini marshmallows to the top. Seal jar with lid and attach instructions.

Instructions:
Combine 3 heaping tablespoons of French Vanilla Hot Chocolate Mix into a mug of hot water or milk. Stir well, and enjoy!



Mint Coffee Creamer in a Jar Mix
This coffee creamer is perfect for the holiday spirit.

3/4 cup non-dairy coffee creamer
1/2 cup cocoa
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 tsp peppermint extract

Mix ingredients in a small bowl and pour into smaller sized jar. Seal with lid,

Intruction:
Add 2 tbsp of mint coffee creamer to a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or steamed milk.


Espresso Mocha Mix
6 Tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons instant espresso coffee powder
3 Tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa
1-1/4 cups powdered nondairy creamer
1/2 cup plus 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

In a medium bowl, stir together espresso coffee powder, cocoa, nondairy creamer, sugar and cinnamon. Divide into small jars for gift giving.

Instructions:
Add 4 tbsp Espresso Mocha Mix to mug, and add boiling water, stirring well.


Spiced Mocha Holiday Drink in a Jar Mix
1 cup sugar
1 cup nonfat powdered milk
1/2 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1/2 cup cocoa
3 tbsp powdered instant coffee
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in a jar, mixing well. Seal with lid.

Directions: Add 3 tablespoons of Spiced Mocha Holiday drink with 3/4 cups boiling water. Enjoy!


Hot Buttered Rum Drink in a Jar Mix
2-3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup unsalted butter
3 tbsp maple syrup
6 tsp ground cinnamon
2 1/2 tsp ground cloves
3/4 tsp ground nutmeg

Combine all ingredients with an electric mixer in a large bowl until thoroughly combined.

*Must be stored in refrigerator*

Directions:

Add 1 1/2 tsp drink mix with 6 ounces hot apple cider or heated apple juice. For buttered rum, add 1 oz rum. Stir well and serve. Store drink mix in refrigerator


Mint Hot Chocolate in a Jar Mix
Hot chocolate in a jar with mint, perfect for a gift for mint lovers!

6 cups nonfat powdered milk
16 oz confectioner's sugar (powdered sugar)
2 8-oz jars Swiss chocolate flavored non-dairy creamer
15 oz hot chocolate (such as Nestle Quik)
1 small package (7-1/2 oz) round peppermint candies, crushed well
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp salt

Combine all ingredients, mixing well. If you need to crush the peppermints, place them in a couple ziplocs, wrap them in a kitchen towel, then hit with a mallet or even a hammer. Store in refrigerator!

Directions: Place 3 tbsp mint hot chocolate mix in a jar, and add 6 oz hot water, stirring well. Serve! Store mixture in refrigerator.


Lemon Basil Tea in a Jar Mix
This combination sounds odd, but it is quite tasty!

3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp English breakfast tea leaves, loose (you can break bags open, or purchase loose tea leaves)
2 tbsp dried lemon peel
2 tbsp dried basil

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, mixing well. Pour into small jar and seal tightly.

Directions: Press one tablespoon into a tea infuser, or place in small cheesecloth bag. Add 1 cup boiling water and allow to steep for about 4-5 minutes. Remove tea infuser, and add honey, lemon or sugar. Serve!


Sugar Free Hot Chocolate in a Jar Mix
Great for diabetics or those on a reduced sugar diet.

2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 cup lower/non-fat powdered nondairy creamer
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp Equal (or 10 packages)
3/4 tsp cinnamon

Combine all ingredients and place in jar, tightening the lid securely.

Directions: Add 1/3 cup Sugarfree Hot Chocolate Mix into a mug, and add 3/4 cup boiling water, stirring until disolved. Enjoy!


Hot Mulling Spice Drink Mix
This popular recipe is perfect for cold winter nights.

1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. dried ground orange peel
1 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and stir well until well blended. Divide into 1/4 cup single serving portions for gift giving (perfect size for baby food jars) or in a larger jar for entire mix.

Instructions:To make one serving, add 1/4 up hot mulling spice mix with 1 cup apple juice or wine and 1/4 cup water. Heat on stove and serve.



White Hot Chocolate in a Jar Mix
A new twist on a winter family favorite.

1 tsp vanilla powder
1 tsp dried orange peel
1/2 c white chocolate chips or chocolate pieces

Combine ingredients, place in jar, seal and label.

Instructions:
In small saucepan heat 1 1/2 cups of milk. Add 1/4 cup white hot chocolate jar mix, whisking until chocolate melts. Serve!


Spiced Hot Chocolate in a Jar Mix
This spiced hot chocolate is also known in some parts of the country as Mexican hot chocolate.Mexican Hot Chocolate Mix.

1/3 c light brown sugar
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp powdered vanilla
1/4 c cocoa
2 1/2 c powdered milk

Combine ingredients, place in jar, seal and label.

Instructions:
Heat 3 cups water. Once boiling, add spiced hot chocolate mix. Whisk until smooth. Serve with cinnamon stick.


Peppermint Hot Chocolate in a Jar Mix
1 2/3 c mint chocolate chips
1 1/3 c nonfat dry milk powder
2/3 c sugar
1/3 c quality unsweetened cocoa powder
8 peppermint sticks or candies
2 2 cup jars with lids

Layer ingredients in two jars in order. If using peppermint sticks, place them around the edge of the inside of the jar, to make them look fancier. Add more chocolate chips if needed to top up the jar before sealing. Label.

Instructions:
Bring 1 2/3 cups water to boil, stirring in contents of jar over nedium heat until chocolate is melted. Serve with peppermint stick as a "stir stick" in each mug.



Hot Spiced Orange Drink Mix
1 (10 oz) jar of Tang
2 oz Lemonade mix (Country time)
2 C Sugar
2 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Cloves

Mix well and divide into small jars or ziploc bags.

Instructions to make: Add 2 heaping teaspoons to one cup boiling water. Enjoy!
